My Favorite Books Lately

The Blue Zones:

Lessons for living longer from those who have lived the longest by Dan Buettner

I just recently finished reading this book and I can honestly say it has become one of my all-time favorites. Not only does it appeal to my desire to be the healthiest human being I can possibly be, but it also appeals to my sense of wanting to travel to other vistas. His writing and research take you on a journey to other places and ways of living and his beautiful imagery is enticing. I have changed my perspective on eating and am practicing now a slow living lifestyle. My biggest take away is that eating simple whole foods is going to benefit me. Growing my own food and eating high nutritious foods are going to give my body what it needs to thrive. Not only is eating is a Blue Zone way about the foods we eat, but it also includes lifestyle choices. Walking, having a close knit community, having a spiritual element to life, knowing how to live slow even in a modern world will help me to live a healthy lifestyle.
